The international version of the HTC One has already seen Android 4.2.2 and the HTC One Google Edition has already been updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but still we’re missing a couple of HTC Ones out there as the U.S. carrier versions of the device are still running Android 4.1 and there’s no word on an imminent update.

Well, today we have good news for HTC One owners who haven’t seen any updates to their phone’s OS. HTC’s president, Jason Mackenzie, explained in a recent tweet that HTC considers Android 4.2.2 a minor update and therefore decided to skip it, and update the HTC One directly to Android 4.3.

Initially it was thought this update was only good for the HTC One Developer edition, but since the dev edition is merely an unlocked version of the HTC One, it makes perfect sense that all of the remaining HTC One devices still on Android 4.1 will be update this way.

Mackenzie released this info to calm a frustrated Verizon HTC One user that hadn’t received any update. Unfortunately, while we’re all happy for the jump HTC is making, Mackenzie didn’t say when we should see the update being pushed out to users. Do you feel companies are now more concerned on pushing updates faster, or is everything quite the same as in the past? Leave your opinion on the comment section below.
