Skype Video Messaging Comes To Android And iOS

Posted In News - By AndroidPress on Friday, February 15th, 2013 With No Comments »

Skype is advertising a new feature lately called video messaging. Unlike video calling, video messaging is recording videos (up to three minutes long) and sending them to a person. So it is to video calling what texting is to instant messaging. It’s a pretty good idea, a more personal way of talking to someone when both parties can’t sit down for a long time and just talk.

Starting today, video messaging is supported on both iOS and Android. So now you can do your mini videos to your friends from your mobile phone. It also allows you to use the rear camera for video, since you don’t need to look at the screen. Higher quality is always great. Hopefully this feature will come to Microsoft’s own Windows Phone, and considering Microsoft owns Skype, we don’t get why it didn’t get there first. But that ain’t our problem here at DroidDog! If you happen to try out video messaging, tell us how you like it!
