10 Inch Wikipad Delayed, 7 Inch Replaces It At $249

We’ve been expecting the Wikipad (10 inches when introduced) for the longest time, but it’s faced a few delays. Whenever an unproven product faces delays, it’s always a bit scary that it’ll just fall off the face of the Earth. And with the major delays the 10 inch Wikipad faced, it was likely.

However, the company pulled through, and instead of making its future customers wait for them to sort out the issues with the 10 inch model, they decided to release a 7 inch model. This smaller Wikipad has the same specs as the original, including the Tegra 3, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of memory with a microSD card, a 2MP front facing camera, and a 7 inch 1280×800 display. It’ll come with the detatchable controller addon and will retail for $249.

It should launch sometime this spring, and for such a great price, we can’t imagine it not selling (if advertised right). But what if you still want the 10 inch model? Well it hasn’t been totally cancelled. They should release it “before Christmas” hopefully with new internals. Launching a Tegra 3 device after the Tegra 4 is released would not be wise for what should be a high end tablet. So what do you guys think? Will you be getting one?
