Android Distribution Numbers Released, Jelly Bean On A Third Of Devices

Posted In News - By AndroidPress on Monday, June 3rd, 2013 With No Comments »

Google has released their Android distribution numbers for the last two weeks, accounting for the devices that accessed the Play Store. And for once, there has been a decent change instead of the tiny changes we usually see. Jelly Bean 4.1 and 4.2 are officially on a third of Android devices, almost overtaking Gingerbread. Gingerbread dropped a little, as did Ice Cream Sandwich. It may not be a huge change, but Jelly Bean reached a nice milestone.

The numbers will change even more as time goes on, especially with the Galaxy S 4 selling like mad with Android 4.2 on board. We just hope those with Gingerbread phones finally upgrade, because that number is still far too high for our liking. And what will happen when Android 4.3 comes out? We don’t know, but we doubt it’ll change much. Do you think it will?
