Android Still On Top In The US, According To comScore

Posted In News - By AndroidPress on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 With No Comments »

The newest comScore numbers are in, and nothing has changed in the last three months. Android is still at the top with 52%, though market share has dropped 0.3%. iOS is right behind it with a boost of 1.4%, up to 39.2%. And as you can imagine, everyone else isn’t doing well. Both BlackBerry and Windows Phone took hits to their market share, with Symbian not changing at all (and remaining at 0.5%).

On the manufacturer front, it’s exactly what you expect. Apple dominates with 39.2% and a boost of 1.4%, and Samsung is right behind it with 22% with a change of 0.6%. HTC, Motorola, and LG all dropped, though we’ll see how HTC fares in three months with the launch of the HTC One. Maybe Samsung will also get a boost, but they sell a lot of phones regardless of whether a new one came out.

All in all, it’s the same old data. The mobile landscape isn’t much changing, with Apple and Samsung dominating every other company. However, HTC is reporting a lot more revenue last month, so we just might see a change soon.
