Lenovo A10 - 3

Android devices come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and designs; that’s one the beautiful things about Android.  Lenovo, who is generally known as a computer manufacturer, has decided that they want to add another new device into the Android pool with their IdeaPad A10, a convertible tablet/laptop running Android.  Here’s the specs of the device:

  • 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3188 CPU
  • 10.1″ 1366 x 768 Resolution Display
  • 1GB/2GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB Internal Storage
  • microUSB Card Slot
  • 0.3MP Camera
  • 2 x USB 2.0 Ports
  • HDMI Port
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • 22.6 WHr battery

While it’s definitely not the most powerful device on the market, it is a very unique tablet/laptop.  The design follows the footsteps of their Yoga line of devices which can rotate a full 360 degrees to turn the laptop into a tablet.  I actually have the Yoga and I quite enjoy the device.  It’s quite thin and I don’t find the weight too much to bear.  I generally use it as a laptop but it’s nice to be able to easily convert it into a tablet if I’m just doing some reading or web browsing on the couch.

The device hasn’t officially been announced yet but the User Manual has already showed up online and Amazon Germany actually has the device listed on their site for EUR 249.00 which translates to about $349 CAD.  As this hasn’t officially been announced, there’s no further word on availability or pricing but I’m sure an announcement will come soon enough.

Anyone interested in a device like this?
