Chromium Team Working On Chrome Remote Desktop For Android

Smartphone screens are getting bigger and bigger and the hardware behind them is capable of amazing performance. At the same time, Android tablets are growing more and more popular, and packed with productivity features. For that reason, it makes perfect sense to use Android devices as a remote control for your desktop, operating your computer right from a tablet or smartphone. While there are already many apps out there that do this job perfectly, setting up a remote desktop solution is not always easy.

Setting up a server on your desktop, firing up the app and setting it up. Complicated tasks for the most inexperienced users. Google has made it simple, at least from desktop to desktop, with its Chrome Remote Desktop, which relies on the Chrome browser to deliver an easy to use Remote Desktop solution.

Well that easy solution is coming to Android as the Chromium team is hard at work in an Android version of the “Chrome Remote Desktop”. Based on your Google Account and Chrome’s ability to sync, the app should bring your desktop to your Android device directly on the Chrome browser with little effort.

It may be a while before anything comes out of this project, and it should take time to make it a fluid and fully functional experience, but when it does make it to our devices it should prove a major feature for all Android smartphones and tablets. Would you use remote desktop solutions if they were easily set up? Leave your comment on the section below.
