Mozilla has just made available an update to the Android version of Firefox, bringing in features to improve users’ mobile browsing experience. Taking center stage in this update is an improved Awesome Screen that makes it faster and easier to get to your favorite sites.

The Awesome Screen is a personalized page on Firefox for Android that gives users quick access to certain sites. Awesome Screen now also includes a feature to auto complete a URL as you type it. It also now lets you switch to an already opened tab if it detects that the URL you are typing or trying to open is already opened. The title bar also automatically hides from view, maximizing the device’s screen for viewing. A simple downward swipe will pull the title bar back down when needed.

The new Firefox for Android now allows setting a default search provider. Simply go to the Add-ons manager page from the menu, tap and hold to either disable a search provider or to set it as the default. An improved RSS reader is also included, allowing users to conveniently add a page by tapping and holding on the URL bar and selecting “Subscribe to Page”, provided the page has a discoverable RSS feed.

The Firefox web browser is translated by a community of volunteers to help bring an improved browsing experience to people all over the world. This version adds Turkish and Hungarian to the list of languages supported by Firefox. The new Firefox for Android is already available in Google Play Store.
