Halfbrick teasing the cartoon-inspired Colossatron game release

Halfbrick is the developer behind the popular Fruit Ninja game. They also have another successful game called Jetpack Joyride. While both of these titles have been available for sometime and both have been available for multiple platforms — it looks like Halfbrick has begun teasing their next release. The game is called Colossatron: Massive World Threat.

Anyway, Halfbrick Studios has announced the game and even gone as far as offering a trailer video and newly created Facebook page to give people a bit of detail about what the game will bring. As some may pick up on from the trailer, Colossatron is a bit cartoon-like. It seems that was done by design.

The Halfbrick announcement included details about how Colossatron was done in a “unique style reminiscent of the craziest anime and cartoons of the 80s.” As far as the game itself, this is said to be the story about the “biggest and most powerful being to ever wage war against mankind.”

Users playing will have to take control of the Colossatron. And for those wondering what a Colossatron is — Halfbrick describes it as being a gargantuan robotic snake that crash-lands on Earth with a goal to cause chaos. While the goal is to take control over the snake, the players success will be measured by how much damage has been caused — in terms of a dollar amount.

With that, we have the trailer and we have the above image showing the Colossatron but what we don’t have are the specifics in terms of when. So far Halfbrick has said more details will be available in the “coming weeks.” In addition to when, we also cannot help but wonder about platform support. Halfbrick has released games for Android in the past, however they have yet to say which platforms would be getting Colossatron first.
