After Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, Huawei’s Ascend P6 may be the next phone in line to get the stock Android version. Huawei president has told that the firm is working with Google to design a stock Android version of its flagship Android phone. Thus, it may become the next Android phone to forgo the custom user interface with the Samsung and HTC ones have already entered the stores in the U.S.

Talking to Pocket-lint, Kevin Ho, the Huawei president said that the firm has entered talks with the web giant for its flagship P6 to get the Nexus branding. “We are working with Google to analyze the possibility of bringing out a Huawei Ascend P6 with Google Edition,” he said.

The Huawei phone, which sports a 4.7-inch display, was recently titled as the world’s slimmest smartphone. The 6.18mm phone is indeed one of the best Android phones out in market. After its release mid June, Huawei has made a lot of improvements to its Emotion UI. Even though the company now expects for a stock Android UI of the device.

Google has already started selling the Nexus variants of the top phones of its two chief tech partners; Samsung and HTC. Their devices respectively Galaxy S4 and HTC One Nexus Editions have already appeared for sales on Google Play store on June 26 in U.S. as it was promised during their releases some weeks back.

Sometimes back, Sony was also anticipated to get a Nexus version for its 2013 flagship the Xperia Z. It was then reported that Sony also led talks with Google to get the Xperia Z with the Nexus branding. But still now, we have no updates about such a device, possibly referring to the fact that Google wouldn’t have approved its claim. So the question remains if Google will accept Huawei’s request now.
