International Galaxy S II Android 4.1.2 Update Rolling Out

While the world awaits the announcing of Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S IV, there may be many people still holding onto one of the former flagships, the Galaxy S II (especially if you were locked into a 3-year contract!).  The Galaxy S II was honestly one of my favourite phones in the S series.  I loved the design and I thought it performed fantastically.

Well today there’s some good news if you happen to have the international version of the phone (or even the Bell version, the i9100M which is identical to the international version).  Samsung has begun to roll out Android 4.1.2 for the device.  The roll out has reportedly begun in Spain and should be hitting other countries as well.  The update will not only bring you up to Jelly Bean but will also bring the new Nature UI to the device too.

Now I know this isn’t Canadian news per se but as I said if you have a i9100M you can now access an official Jelly Bean build with a little tinkering.  It also offers some hope that Samsung will bring this former flagship a little bit more up to date before it officially sees its end of life.
