Jelly Bean more than doubles its share of the Android ecosystem

Jelly Bean has nearly tripled in just a month!  Amazing isn’t it?  Okay well maybe it’s not that amazing since it was only running on 2.5% of devices in November, but progress is progress.   According to the latest numbers, Jelly Bean now powers 6.7% of the Android devices in the world.

There’s several devices that have added to these numbers.  Most obviously are the Nexus devices.  The Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 are slowly and surely finding their way to more and more homes.  But another major player that is adding to these numbers is the Galaxy S III.  The Galaxy S III is the best selling Android device to date and it has slowly been getting it’s Jelly Bean update over the past few weeks around the world and also now in Canada.

The only other major change to the chart came in the Gingerbread department which dropped about 4% (a drop is a good thing in this situation).

So what version of Android are you guys rocking these days?  The majority of my devices are running Jelly Bean now and I’m eagerly awaiting for my Note 10.1 to get the update and the Premium Suite we shared with you guys a while back.
