LG Will Be Holding An Optimus G Pro Event On May 1 – Question Is Will It Come To Canada

Optimus G Pro Event

LG is planning to hold an event in New York in a week and the star of the show (minus the band) is going to be the Optimus G Pro.  The Optimus G Pro is, in many ways, LG’s challenger to the current king of the phablets, the Galaxy Note II.  Here’s the expected specs on the Pro:

  • 5.5″ 1080p Display
  • 1.7GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 600 Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 32GB Internal Storage
  • micro-SD Card Slot
  • 13MP Camera
  • 3140 mAh Battery
  • LTE Connectivity

Now I say “expected specs” because the Optimus G Pro actually has two variants.  In Japan, a 5″ version of this phone was launched while the rest of the world seems to be getting the 5.5″ version.  My guess is that the 5.5″ version is the one coming to the states so the specs above should be right.

So what does this have to do with us Canadianas?  Well from what I’ve been reading, AT&T is one of the carriers that will be picking up the device which means that a version of the phone that is fully compatible with the majority of the Canadian carriers is being made.  That also means that the likelihood of a Canadian carrier picking up the device is that much greater since they aren’t needing any sort of modified version of the phone.

Despite my Samsung preference, I really like what LG is doing and would love to see their newest flagship on our shores.  If I find out more about it I’ll be sure to let you guys know.
