New Trojan for Android, the most sophisticated trojan we have seen

Kaspersky Lab has discovered the most sophisticated Android Trojan has been seen to date. His name is unknown vulnerabilities and exploits Backdoor.AndroidOS.Obad.a the Google operating system. Obad.a, for short, is not widespread, but it is difficult to remove today.

The new Trojan is far more complex than any known Android malware, approaching more Windows applications of this type. Obad.a goes unnoticed, takes advantage of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to send files to the nearest terminal and allows attackers to execute commands on the infected device using standard SMS messages. Obad.a no interface, runs in the plan (that is difficult to detect), and is spread by spam SMS messages.

Backdoor.AndroidOS.Obad.a is closer to Windows malware that other Android Trojans, in terms of its complexity and the number of known vulnerabilities exploited.

There is evidence that circulating Obad.a Google Play, the danger comes from parallel download sites. It is rather unlikely that the Trojan land on our teams, not only the origin but also because we have to grant certain permissions to be installed. What we do reveals the emergence of Obad.a is where the malware is moving to Android, which is expected to be more powerful in the future.
