Quickoffice relaunched by Google, price drops and includes 10GB Drive perk

Back in April Google released the Google Apps edition of Quickoffice in the Play Store. This app was released for free, but the use was limited to those who were paying Google Apps for Business subscribers. At the time Quickoffice remained priced at $14.99 and $19.99 for the Pro and Pro HD versions. Well, flash forward till the present day and Quickoffice has been relaunched and is now available for free — for everyone.

The newly launched Quickoffice can be found in the Play Store where it sits with support for tablets and smartphones. Well, provided they are running Android 2.2. or later. In addition to Google dropping the price, they also rolled the app out with a new icon, which bears resemblance to the Google Drive icon. And perhaps a bit nicer, the app also has some new features.

Google noted how the new Quickoffice allows the user to create .ZIP folders and also view charts in Excel and PowerPoint files. Of course, the existing features remain which mean you will be able to attach files to emails, open and view PDF files and create/edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Quickoffice users can also access files from their device and from Google Drive.

Sticking with the connection to Drive, Google has a bonus for those who install the app and sign-in using their Google account credentials before September 26th — free storage. Those who follow up with this will get an extra 10GB of Google Drive storage. This extra free storage will come in addition to the currently available 15GB and Google has said it will be added sometime in the “next few weeks.”
