Rumour: Project J May Be More Than Just The Galaxy S IV

Posted In News, Reviews - By AndroidPress on Tuesday, February 12th, 2013 With No Comments »

Some interesting news has come out of SamMobile today.  Apparently, Project J, which was the original code name for the Galaxy S IV, may actually be a line up of devices rather than just the Galaxy S IV.

The information is based on some leaked accessories for the Project J line up.  Based on the accessories that have leaked, Project J will consist of three different devices, Project J, Project J Mini, and Project J Active.  Project J which is also known as Altius, we already know is the Galaxy S IV.  Project J Mini, which has the code name Serrano, is likely going to be a Galaxy S IV mini.  Project J Active, which has the code name Fortius, is expected to be some sort smart watch to compete with that emerging market.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S IV and S IV mini are confirmed device.  However, the smart watch seems to be a bit more up in the air at this point and a final decision regarding its future still needs to be made.

As a side note, these rumoured accessories do reveal a bit more information about the S IV as well.  For example, the battery on the S IV looks to be 2600 mAh, an upgrade over the current 2100 mAh battery.  It also appears wireless charging will be in tact and those famous flip covers will be available for both the S IV and the Mini.

Keep in mind that these are all rumours but, to me, they don’t seem ridiculous at all so I could see this Project J line up coming into fruition.  Whether they all release in Canada is another question entirely but I predict we’ll see all these devices this year.  Check out the full accessory leak below:
