Samsung Galaxy Legend enters the prepaid Verizon lineup

Posted In News - By AndroidPress on Friday, October 4th, 2013 With 1 Comment

Verizon Wireless has launched their latest prepaid smartphone. The handset is the Samsung Galaxy Legend, though some may recognize it as the Galaxy Stellar. In fact, the Galaxy Stellar launched with Big Red as a free-on-contract device back in September 2012. Needless to say, Verizon has the Galaxy Legend sitting in the prepaid lineup with a price point of $129.99.

That is a relatively low price for a contract-free device and well, the handset does have the specs to match. Basically, those looking towards the Galaxy Legend for a possible purchase should not be expecting something with high-end specs. The handset has a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) display and is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM.

Other goodies on the Legend include 3G connectivity (no 4G LTE here) as well as WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 2100 mAh battery, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera. The handset will be running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with the TouchWiz user interface.

Anyway, those curious about the Galaxy Legend may benefit from our earlier review of the Galaxy Stellar. The handsets sport the same specs with one main exception being the lack of 4G LTE support on the Legend. The Stellar did have LTE connectivity when it arrived in the regular Verizon Wireless lineup.
