Samsung Possibly Preparing A Premium F Line Of Smartphones

It’s hard to keep track with all the Samsung news that keep coming in. First, we heard about the new 64-bit Exynos already in final stages of development, then about an order for magnesium/aluminum phone casings, afterwards about the new ISOCELL imaging technology, and now we might find out what ties everything up.

Korean media is reporting that Samsung is preparing a premium line of smartphones, called Project F, where the company is planning to throw in the best hardware they have and wrap it in a pretty metal casing.

Details on the exact specs are still scarce and just a rumour, but the screen will range between 4.5″-5.5″ screen sizes with eventually flexible displays, Exynos Octa processors, and up to 16 MP camera with optical image stabilization technology. Since this rumoured F series will probably have a premium price, mass production issues with certain components like the YOUM flexible screen might not be a true problem.

This rumoured premium F series will allow Samsung to cover every market segment and price point. However, since the metal casings ordered might be for the F series, the metal Galaxy S5 might not exist after all. Nonetheless, the order for magnesium/aluminum cases was quite big which could mean both the F series and S5 will feature metal casings.
