Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa, the company’s take on a octa-core (really a dual quad-core) processor, has been available for quite a while now. However, apart for some versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 the CPU hasn’t really seen the light of day, and it should stay like that as Samsung prepares to unleash an enhanced version of the Octa CPU.

Samsung announced yesterday the second generation of its Exynos 5 Octa chipset that might be called Exynos Evolved and it will be unveiled next week. For now, no details were revealed so all we know is the new CPU is “a more powerful, enhanced Exynos 5 Octa”. This announcement comes just in time for the upcoming release of the Galaxy Note III that’s supposed to be unveiled this September.

Next week should shed more light on this chipset as Samsung promised detailed specifications. If this will be a true eight-core CPU or another double array of quad-core CPUs nobody knows, but we won’t have to wait much more to find out. Leave your guess on the comment section below and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we have more on the upcoming chipset.
